Description
Hello, my name is Lorraine and for the last 15 years, I have been working as a caregiver for people in their homes as well as a trained nurse. I am a female carer who is available for both hourly and overnight shifts in your home. My attributes are caring, friendly and helpful which make me perfect for helping individuals lead independent lives at home. My motivation for being a carer is to help others who are unable to carry out daily activities on their own, and to provide them comfort and companionship.
I can drive, but I don't have a car. I have concerns about the environment and prefer to use other means of transportation. However, I possess excellent skills in bathing, toileting, assistance with dressing, catheter care and providing companionship. During my career, I have dealt with various illnesses such as mild cognitive impairment, bedbound patients, Parkinson's disease, anxiety and depression. My understanding of these illnesses and how they affect daily life means I can provide the appropriate support and care to help improve individuals' quality of life.
In my free time, I enjoy honing my hobbies of painting, walking, playing card games, cooking & baking, and puzzles. I also don't mind working around pets, such as cats, fish, rabbits, birds and turtles. Therefore, it should be no surprise that my caring nature extends beyond human contact. If you are looking for a home caregiver who is compassionate, friendly, and experienced, please don't hesitate to get in touch with me.
